Bethel, PA, US is a borough in Pennsylvania's Lebanon County. Founded in 1797, it was named after the biblical town of Bethel. The town played a significant role during the American Revolution as it was the site of the Bethel Church, where the Pennsylvania Militia gathered before the Battle of Brandywine. Bethel is home to the historic Union Canal Tunnel, the oldest existing transportation tunnel in the United States.
