Calumet, Oklahoma is a small town located in Canadian County, established in the early 1900s during the oil boom. It was originally a farming community, but the discovery of oil led to its growth and development. The town was named after the Calumet Oil Field, which was one of the most productive oil fields in the state. Today, Calumet has a population of around 130 and is known for its annual Oil Festival, celebrating the town's rich oil history. The town's notable landmark is the Calumet School, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
