Lewisburg, Tennessee, US was established in 1809 and incorporated in 1810. It is the county seat of Marshall County. The town was named after explorer Meriwether Lewis. During the Civil War, Lewisburg was occupied by both Union and Confederate forces. A notable attraction is the Bell Tower, a historic site that was originally built as a water tower in 1897.
