Mannington is a town in Marion County, West Virginia, United States. It was established in 1882 and named after Franklin Manning, a local mine owner. The town has a rich coal mining history and was once home to the famous "Mannington Collision," a coal mine disaster in 1968 that resulted in the deaths of 78 miners. A notable attraction in Mannington is the North View Golf Club, a public 18-hole golf course with scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
