Mattydale is a suburban hamlet in Onondaga County, New York, US. It is part of the Town of Salina and has a population of around 6,000. The area was first settled in the early 19th century and was originally known as "Matilda." The name was later changed to "Mattydale" in honor of Matty Bell, the daughter of a local hotel owner. A notable landmark in Mattydale is the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, which is home to over 700 animals and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
