South Point, Ohio is a village in Lawrence County, located in the southeastern part of the state. It was established in 1847 and is named after its location at the southernmost point in Ohio. The village is home to the World's Largest Teapot, a 14-foot-tall roadside attraction originally built in 1938 as a advertisement for the Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Company. South Point has a rich history in the coal mining industry and was once a major transportation hub for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.
