Stanwood, Washington, US is a city located in Snohomish County, north of Seattle. It was originally inhabited by the Snohomish tribe before European settlers arrived in the late 1800s. The city was officially incorporated in 1903 and has since grown to a population of approximately 7,000. Stanwood is known for its annual summer festival, the Stanwood Camano Community Fair, which has been held since 1923. The city's historic downtown district, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, features well-preserved buildings from the early 20th century.
