West Point, Kentucky, is a small town located in Hardin County with a population of approximately 600 as of 2010. It was established in the early 19th century and was named after the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York. The town is home to the West Point Covered Bridge, a historic landmark built in 1837, which is the longest covered bridge in Kentucky and the only one still open to traffic. The bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a popular tourist attraction.
