The township covers an area of 18.1 square miles and has a population of approximately 22,000. Montville is known for its historic sites, such as the Dickerson Mine, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The township also boasts a variety of recreational areas, including the 167-acre Montville Township Park.
