Auburndale is a village located in the western part of Newton, Massachusetts, US. It was settled in the 17th century and incorporated into Newton in 1873. The village is named after Auburn, New York, the original home of many of its early settlers. Auburndale is known for its historic architecture, including the Auburndale Cemetery, which features gravesites of notable individuals such as Samuel Francis Smith, the composer of "America (My Country, 'Tis of Thee)".
