Bremen, Indiana, US is a town in Marshall County, established in 1851 and named after Bremen, Germany. It was initially a farming community, but its economy diversified with the arrival of the South Bend and Western Railroad in 1871. The town is known for the Bremen Milling Company, a historic grist mill built in 1886, which is now a museum. Today, Bremen has a population of approximately 4,500 and is a part of the South Bend–Mishawaka metropolitan area.
