Clendenin, West Virginia, US is a small town in Kanawha County, founded in 1873 and named after its first postmaster, Thomas Clendenin. The town was largely destroyed during the Flood of 1913 and again in 1937, but was rebuilt each time. Today, it has a population of around 1,500. A notable attraction in Clendenin is the Clendenin United Methodist Church, which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
