Dillon, Colorado, US is a town located in Summit County, founded in the late 1800s as a stagecoach station and trading post. It was named after Thomas Dillon, a prospector who discovered gold in the area. The town was later moved and rebuilt twice due to the creation of the Dillon Reservoir in the 1960s, which flooded the original townsite. Today, Dillon is a popular destination for outdoor activities, with the reservoir providing opportunities for boating, fishing, and skiing at the nearby Keystone Ski Resort. The town's history is preserved at the Dillon Schoolhouse Museum, a one-room schoolhouse built in 1883.
