Gold Run, California, US is a small unincorporated community in Placer County. It was established during the California Gold Rush in 1850 and named after the nearby Gold Run Creek, where gold was discovered. The community once had a population of over 1,500 and was a significant center for gold mining. Today, it has a population of around 200 and is known for the Gold Run Inn, a historic stagecoach stop and hotel that was built in 1852.
