Heber Springs, Arkansas, US is the county seat of Cleburne County, founded in 1882 and incorporated in 1908. The town was initially named Sugar Loaf, but was later changed to Heber Springs in honor of Heber J. Manning, a chief engineer of the Cairo & Fulton Railroad. Heber Springs is known for its natural beauty, particularly Greers Ferry Lake, a popular attraction for outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, and swimming. The lake, created by the Greers Ferry Dam, was dedicated by President John F. Kennedy in 1963.
