Poynette is a village in Columbia County, Wisconsin, United States. Established in 1840, it was named after a French fur trader, Jacques Vieau's Native American wife, Poynette. The village is known for its picturesque location along the Wisconsin River and its notable landmark, the Poynette Fish Hatchery. As of the 2020 census, the population was approximately 2,500.
