Enola, PA, US is a census-designated place in East Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County. It was named after the town's first postmistress, Enola Gouy, in 1887. The community is known for the Enola Rail Yard, once the largest railroad classification yard in the world. The yard, which opened in 1904, played a significant role in the transportation of troops and supplies during World War I and World War II. Today, Enola is a residential area with a population of approximately 6,000 people.
