Peebles, Ohio is a village in the southwestern part of the state, in the United States. It is the county seat of Adams County and was established in 1837. The village was named after Robert Peebles, a local merchant. Peebles is home to the Serpent Mound, a prehistoric effigy mound built by the ancient Hopewell culture, which is a notable attraction and a National Historic Landmark. The village has a rich history and a small-town atmosphere, with a population of just over 1,800 as of the 2010 census.
