Knoxville, Maryland, US is an unincorporated community in Frederick County. It was named after General Henry Knox, the first United States Secretary of War. The community was established in the late 1700s and was a stop along the C&O Canal. A notable landmark is the Knoxville Bridge, also known as the Bachelors Bridge, which was built in 1831 and is one of the oldest surviving bridges in Maryland.
