Can anyone see my Notion?

Your Notion workspace is private by default, meaning only you can see your pages unless you explicitly choose to share them. When you create a new Notion account, all your content remains completely private until you decide to grant access to others.

Notion operates on a permission-based sharing system where you control exactly who can view, comment on, or edit your pages. You can share individual pages or entire databases with specific people by adding their email addresses, or you can generate share links with varying levels of access. The platform offers several permission levels including view-only, comment access, and full editing rights, giving you granular control over what others can do with your content.

One important consideration is public sharing. Notion allows you to make pages publicly accessible on the web, which means anyone with the link can view them without needing a Notion account. This feature is useful for creating public documentation, portfolios, or blogs, but it's crucial to be intentional about what you make public. Once a page is public, it can be indexed by search engines and shared freely.

For team workspaces, visibility rules differ slightly. Members of a shared workspace can see pages that have been shared with them or with the entire workspace, but they cannot access your private pages unless you specifically share them. Workspace administrators have broader access permissions, so it's important to understand your role and the roles of others in any shared workspace.

To maintain privacy, regularly review your sharing settings by checking the "Share" button on each page. You can see exactly who has access and modify permissions at any time. If you've shared something accidentally, you can immediately revoke access or change a public page back to private.

While Notion takes security seriously and encrypts data in transit and at rest, remember that any content you share digitally carries inherent risks. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information, passwords, or confidential business data through any cloud platform. For maximum security, keep truly sensitive information in private pages and consider using additional security measures like two-factor authentication on your Notion account.

The key takeaway is that you maintain complete control over your Notion privacy through thoughtful sharing practices and regular permission reviews.
